Your GPU can handle the strain better than your CPU 3: The game builds shaders when you first load into an area. It can take 10 mins or so until it's running as good as it can. WebIm sure you've already checked, but make sure your graphics settings are HIGH or ULTRA HIGH to force the GPU to do the work. It doesn't sound like your GPU is doing the load, and the game is making the CPU do it. WebLow FPS with an RX 580 & i7 4790 I have an RX 580 8GB and an i7 4790 cpu, and I always get between 15 and 20 fps playing Star Citizen on low preset, 1080p, in any area with lots of things happening. I have 24 gigs of RAM, the game running on high priority, installed on an SSD, and all other applications closed.
